Normally new entries are created through the dashboard, starting and  stopping projects. If  you have forgotten to log time, you can add and edit entries in the History view.

In the History view,  touch where you want to insert the new entry, a plus appears to indicate the selected time. Touch it again and an entry is created. If an entry is already in the slot, you can long press  to add a new entry in the middle.  

When an entry is being created, the New entry view is opened.  It allows you to edit the start and stop time, choose the project/task and add a note if desired. 

If the new entry is overlapping another entry, a warning is is shown. Proceeding will delete the overlapping part of the other entry.
